Prior to the creation of Octopus Electrical Service, Mick spent many years living and working on boats around South East Asia. During this time, he worked as a captain and engineer on several pleasure and commercial vessels. As a qualified electrician, Mick also spent much of this time rewiring many boats around Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines including the famous Stormvogul. Upon settling down in Phuket, the decision was made to start Octopus Electrical Service in 1998.

The early days of the company saw Mick working from home on his motorbike, but in the decades since, Octopus Electrical Service has grown into one of the biggest marine electrical companies in Asia. This growth can be credited to a handful of hardworking Thai electrical and electronic engineers.
