Introducing Chef Chalermwut (Nui) Srivolalkul, Chef de Cuisine at Jaras Restaurant

Chef Nui’s culinary curiosity started at the tender age of seven when he helped his mother prepare family meals. His keen interest in various cuisines inspired him to learn about a range of cooking styles and dishes with one goal in mind - using that knowledge to make the very best Thai cuisine. His passion for Thai cuisine is an ode to his mother, so he ensures each dish is made with the same love that goes into a home-cooked meal.

As the Chef de Cuisine at Jaras, Chef Nui is responsible for crafting modern Thai dishes with progressive presentation using the finest sustainable ingredients from local farmers and fishers. Chef Nui leads guests on a gastronomic journey, drawing inspiration from his Thai roots to deliver a memorable culinary experience in a fine dining setting.

Although proud of all of the delectable dishes on the menu at Jaras, Chef Nui recommends the Look Choke Curry. This signature dish uses local ingredients from Phang Nga province, fermented in-house at the restaurant’s fermentation lab. Don’t miss this incredibly unique dish, only served at Jaras.

He also recommends Choo Chii Goong, a delicious “zero waste” menu item. The entire shrimp is used to prepare this dish - even the head and shell are used to create the prawn bisque, served along with homemade curry using organic ingredients.

4worldlovers: "Schweizer Star Im Ausland (Swiss Star Abroad): Yannick Hollenstein runs one of the best restaurants on the holiday island and impresses with "L'Arôme by the Sea", right by the sea, especially with excellent seafood. The passionate chef and fisherman has "come to Phuket" to stay. GaultMillau distinguishes him as a "Swiss star abroad", and two of his former bosses are also happy about this: August Minikus and Andreas Caminada."

Our Chief Sommelier, Mario Sirignano, oversees our wine program. Our wine menu boasts more than 200 varieties, predominantly from France, with an emphasis on Bordeaux and Burgundy. Besides, Mario's selection encompasses numerous lesser-known appellations, showcasing the extensive terroir found in French wines and the vast array of styles that pair excellently with the culinary creations of Chef Yannick Hollenstein.

"Our cellar reflects the richness and diversity of French vineyards but not only that, we have also included some selections from across the world which help to elevate the overall offering giving guests a taste of what is not always possible in French winemaking. At L’Arome our cuisine is heavily influenced by the sea and this goes hand in hand with our current wine selection which has a heavier focus on white wines with texture and acidity to pair with the freshly caught seafood on offer.

The extensive wine list of L’ARÔME BY THE SEA has already been awarded as one of the Best Wine List by Star Wine List.

Situated atop L'ARÔME BY THE SEA, the sunset deck offers an ideal spot to relish imported seafood, champagne, and witness the sun dipping below the horizon. Guests can indulge in a range of French oysters, caviar, and other fish roes, paired with meticulously chosen champagnes. The Deck operates from 4pm until late into the night.

The reviews don’t lie. This place is awesome. Delicious food. Great hospitality. We really enjoyed the grilled mixed kebab plate for 2 (great value and full of flavour!) and the kids had a cheese pied that disappeared in 30s flat! We enjoyed complimentary bread and Turkish tea. Will be back!

Walked to this place for lunch, first we were warmly greeted by one of the waiter at the patio and got seated in a nice table by the window. There were so many food varieties on the menu, but we manage to order an appetizer plus kahab meal for two. The food was delicious and they offered us free tea as well. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you ever come to Phuket!

This place is amazing! Second time I’ve came here to eat. First time was in October. Delicious in October, delicious now! Service is so friendly and checks on your needs. Great Turkish food! The bread is heavenly, just like anything else on the menu. Don’t forget to have your Turkish tea after your meal :D
