4worldlovers: Sayan noi (Kie) Started training and fighting with his father at the age of 6, in his hometown in Phatthalung. He moved to pursue his fighting career to Bangkok at the age of 16 where he was training and fighting along side with coach Leamthong for years.

Kie’s style is extremely technical and he has an impressive 570 fights under his belt of which 310 are wins, 40 by KO. His most mentionable wins include him being the 105 pound Lumpinee champion, 115 WMC champion and 122 pound Thailand Champion.

Kie is now 38 years old, he has a wife and two kids and his main focus is to coach the up and coming fighters and pass on his knowledge but he hasn’t excluded the possibility of stepping into the ring again in the future.

Outside of fighting Kie holds a great interest towards bull fighting and has a career as a bull fighter and a breeder back in his home town. He is a big personality with always a positive attitude, and is extremely liked by everyone at the gym. He goes running with the fighters everyday and is very good at adjusting his coaching for people with different experiences.

Kru Leamthong, is originally from Phang Nga province in south Thailand where he began his fighting career at the age of 9. Winning the Southern Thailand title at 45kg when he was young, Leamthong moved to Bangkok to pursue his fighting career and chase his dreams of becoming Champion at just 16 years of age!

During his storied fight career Leamthong became known as “ขุนเข่าไม่มีตา” “Khun kao mai mee tda” roughly translated as “The man who knees with no eyes” due to his style of throwing knees with reckless abandon, often without even looking!

In his career Leamthong stacked up over 300 fights, during which he realised his dreams and became the S1 Rajadamnern champion not once but twice, as well as winning the highly decorated Channel 3 8 man tournament championship! To add to his incredible achievements within Thailand, he’s also seen international success with fights on the famous Top King promotion in Indonesia before finishing his fight career at the age of 30, going out on top with a KO victory in Japan.

Rattachai Muay Thai was opened at the start of 2015 by Kru Nai and his wife, Nit. Kru Nai, otherwise known as Rattanachai Wor. Valapol, is a 3x lumpinee stadium champion and winner of an M100 tournament. Prior to opening his own gym, Nai spent 7 years working as a trainer at a local gym located only just a couple minutes away from Rattachai.

Nai and his family made headlines at the end of 2010 when his 7 month old daughter, Tuptim, needed a liver transplant in order to have any chance at survival. The $50,000 dollars needed for the operation was well beyond what the family could afford. Nai’s students, coworkers and peers started doing everything they could to raise money and awareness for the cause.

In a brilliant act of desperation, one of Nai’s former students, Ben Pittsley, posted a thread in the “UG” (a popular mixed martial arts discussion forum), calling on UFC president Dana White to pay for the surgery. He did! In his own words.

On weekends I never get on a computer because I’m hanging with my kids. But one Saturday and I remember like it was yesterday, I walked by my computer at home and something just pulled me to it, and I know this sounds fucking weird and I’m not religious, but I got on the UG that day.

Ben talked to me that day in that post in a way that I communicate. He basically said, “Dana, a little girl is going to die in four weeks if she doesn’t have $50,000 for this surgery and you should pay for it.” I read that thing and it was like a punch right in the face and I said you know what “He’s right, I should fuckin’ do this.” And it was two of the greatest decisions I have ever made in my life. 1. To get on the computer that day. 2. To pay for that surgery. One of the greatest things that has ever happened to me!

Because of Dana White’s act of generosity, as well as Ben’s determination to raise the money, Tuptim is in good health and can be found roaming around the gym with a big smile on her face.
